3D Printing

Bring your digital designs to life using the Library’s Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printer. Our 3D printing service is available to all patrons in good standing. The printer can produce models up to 256 × 256 × 256 mm (10 in × 10 in × 10 in) with a maximum print time of eight hours.

You can download a pre-made file from popular sites or use free modeling software to create your own:

Submit Your File

To submit your 3D design, email it as a .3mf, .stl, .step, or .obj file to idealab@whitelakelibrary.org. Include your name, contact information, and brief project description.

Pricing

Printing costs are $0.10 per gram of filament used, with a $1.00 minimum. Staff will confirm your total before printing. Payment is collected once your print is complete.

Additional Information

  • Only designated library staff handle the 3D printer.
  • Files must be submitted as-is; staff will not modify designs.
  • Prints are not guaranteed to be exact; small variations may occur.
  • Refunds or replacements cannot be given for design errors.

Things to Note

  • Filament used is PLA, a bioplastic made from corn.
  • We encourage safe, educational, or prototype-based use only.
  • Completed prints are available for pickup at the Adult Information Desk.

What Cannot Be Printed

  • Items prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
  • Unsafe or obscene materials.
  • Objects violating intellectual property rights or copyright.
