Friends of the Library

The Friends of the White Lake Township Library is a nonprofit volunteer group dedicated to supporting the Library through fundraising, community advocacy, and special programming. Their efforts help enhance library services, sponsor events, and strengthen our community connections. The Friends can be reached by email at friends@whitelakelibrary.org.

Support the Friends

The Friends host regular book sales, sponsor reading programs, and fund special Library events throughout the year. Your membership and donations make these initiatives possible.

In 2025, the Friends purchased: Professional podiums with the Library logo, toy storage for the Early Literacy play area, an additional Idea Lab counter space in the Idea Lab, logo-branded wear for staff, changing tables for the public restrooms, an additional board book bin, and more!

Join the Friends to support literacy, lifelong learning, and community programs. Annual memberships start at just $10 and directly benefit Library services.

Used Book Sales

In addition to their Friends Corner ongoing sales shelf, the Friends hold quarterly used book sales in the Gathering Place. Friends members get early access!

    Wednesday, March 11: 5-7 PM (Friends Members Only)

    Thursday, March 12: 10 AM - 7 PM

Scholarship Program

In 2026, the Friends will offer a $1000 non-renewable scholarship to one high school senior residing in White Lake Township. Submit your application to your high school counseling department, a Library service desk, or friends@whitelakelibrary.org.

  • Requirements and Deadlines

    Applications Due March 6, 2026

    Have been accepted into a two or four year accredited college, university, or trade school

    Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

    Demonstrate community involvement or volunteering

Meetings

The Friends meet regularly at the Library to plan upcoming events, book sales, and volunteer opportunities. New members and visitors are always welcome!
