The Library offers high quality and friendly service by offering diverse services, programs, and materials for people of all ages. The library staff is here to assist you in person, by telephone, and by email at reference@whitelakelibrary.org.
White Lake Township residents or property owners are eligible for a free library card with proof of residency or ownership. Applications for minors must be signed by a parent or guardian. Applications must be filled out in person at the Library.
Your library card lets you borrow items from the White Lake Township Library and the other 74 member libraries in The Library Network, and also the statewide MeLCat program.
Your library card also gives you online access to your account and a variety of informational databases. Once you log into your account with your library card number and PIN, you can place holds, see a list of the items you have checked out, renew your items, and more. You can also download the TLN app from Google Play or the App Store for easy access to the library's catalog on your phone or tablet.
To ensure the accuracy of your library record, please use your library card every time you check out materials. If your card is lost or stolen, please notify the library immediately. Your library record is confidential.
For more information please read our Meeting Room Policy.
Once you have read the policy, please call the library at (248) 698-4942 (Ext. 110) or stop by the Administration Office to make a reservation.
Library items may be reserved or placed on hold through the online catalog, at the Adult or Children's Information desks, or by phone. Your library card number and your PIN will be needed to place your hold. You will be notified when the item is ready for you to pick up from our self-service holds shelf.
Please remember to check out your hold with circulation staff, at one of our Express Checkout machines or at our new Drive Up Window.
White Lake Library items may be renewed twice unless the item has been requested by another patron. Library items may be renewed in person, by phone (248-698-4942 ext. 2) or online through your account. Most items will automatically renew if possible.
Our library offers a 24/7 drop box return at the front of our building, as well as return boxes in our lobby. If you have an item that is damaged or has another issue, please return the item in person to the circulation desk.
There is a fine limit of $5.00 for each White Lake Library card. If your fines are $5.00 or more, you will not be able to check out books, place holds, or use the public computers until the fines are paid to below the limit.
Fines can be paid in cash at the circulation desk or online with a credit card through your account (Fines must be $5.00 or more to pay with card)
